History
IFC Relationship with Gourmetceuticals, LLC
Gourmetceuticals was founded by Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria S.A. (IFC, Madrid) as an independent US entity, to focus the oral use of its products in the human and veterinary functional foods space. The relationship allows Gourmetceuticals to tap into IFC’s product and technology pipeline in order to expand product offerings into new markets.
IFC’s product pipeline includes cosmetic, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products that can be leveraged in evidence-based culinary technologies for the functional food space. Its products focus on anti-aging, immune health and digestive health among others.
IFC Company Description and History
IFC was created in 1994 as an independent company, headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It was spun out of a larger entity established in the 1950s. IFC develops, manufactures and commercializes both proprietary and in-licensed technologies in both the pharmaceutical and derma-cosmetic arenas.
Recently, IFC expanded its activity in the international derma-cosmetic arena and exports products to more than 26 countries. IFC has acquired and created derma-cosmetic companies in Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Brazil and the US.

Eduardo Reyes Martin, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Alcala University
Dr. Eduardo Reyes is actively involved in the Research & Development team at Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria (IFC) in Madrid, Spain. He also serves as an Assistant Professor in Translational Medicine and Immunology at the University of Alcala in Madrid. More specifically, Dr. Reyes works with the Laboratory of Immune System Diseases and Oncology, the National Biotechnology Center (CNB), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and the Associated Unit Department of Medicine.
His area of research is focused on immunopharmacology and the study of ethiopathogenics as well as other immune system-related pathologies as it relates to autoimmune disorders (vitiligo, systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis), infectious diseases (Brucela and sepsis) and various cancers (leukemia, breast cancer and bladder carcinoma).
He has published more than 40 original papers in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Blood and the Journal Dermatological Science. Dr. Reyes received his Ph.D. in biology from the University of Alcala.

Marta Dominguez Valdes-Hevia, Ph.D.
Technical Director, Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria (IFC)
Dr. Marta Dominguez is Technical Director at Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria (IFC) in Madrid, Spain. She was previously Head of the Quality Assurance at IFC. Before that, Dr. Dominguez was Head of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at Laboratorios Andromaco, a pharmaceutical and cosmetic sales company.
She was also a research fellow within the Biological Molecular Center at the High Council for Scientific Research. Dr. Dominguez is a co-author on two patents and more than 30 publications and congress communications. She received a Ph.D. in pharmacy with honors and a B.S. from the Complutense University of Madrid.
She also received a specialized title on Quality Control and Analysis of Drugs from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Madrid.

Antonio F. Guerrero Gomez-Pamo, Ph.D.
Head of Quality Assurance, Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria (IFC)
Dr. Antonio Guerrero is the Head of Quality Assurance at Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria (IFC) in Madrid, Spain. He previously held the following positions at IFC: Head of Manufacturing, Head of the Fine Chemistry Department, Head of the Research & Development (R&D) Basic Unit and Head of Quality Control.
Prior to his positions at IFC, Dr. Guerrero was the R&D Subdirector, Head of the Biochemistry Department and researcher at Laboratorios Andromaco S.A., a sales pharmaceutical and cosmetic company in Madrid. He has been involved in research, development, scale-up, manufacturing, quality control and quality assurance of natural products as drugs, cosmetics, nutraceuticals or nutricosmetics since 1980. Dr. Guerrero has collaborated in the following lines of products: Inmunoferon®, Difur®, Heliocare® and Endocare®.
He was also a research fellow at the Biological Research Center at the High Council for Scientific Research in Madrid. Dr. Guerrero is a co-author of 13 patents and more than 70 publications and congress communications. He received a Ph.D. in sciences (chemistry) with honors and a B.S. from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
